C. Mason Reiter
 
Mason Reiter, Explosive Specialist for the Department of Labor and Industries has work in the explosive industry the majority of his life. In 1946, Mason helped his father and his father’s friend shoot stumps on top of Conway Hill where I-5 is now in Skagit County. During the 1960’s, Mason worked on Swinomish Reservation for Osberg Construction at Shelter Bay shooting ditch lines and stumps. Mason also worked out of Laborers Local 901 in Mt. Vernon. During the 1970’s, Mason worked on Alaska Pipeline, Terminal Camp, Sheep Creek and Thompson Pass. He also taught drilling and powder safety classes for the Laborers Union in Anchorage, Alaska during 1975 and 1976. From 1980-86, Mason was elected Business Manager of Local 901 in Mt. Vernon. Then, from 1986-90, he was an Explosive Inspector for the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries. From 1990 to present, Mason has been serving as the Explosive Specialist for Explosive Licensing at the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries.
